Sorry folks. Work was quite hectic this week, and I spent most of my spare time sleeping or on planes. No update. I'll try to squeak a few songs mid-week, because I hate having no updates.

Well, I was informed that some of my gallery pages took forever to load up (for instance, a friend of mine in Ireland told me that the birth page took 20 minutes for her!). So, I went back and re-sized and re-compressed all of the thumbnails. This resulted in making the thumbnail pages 2-5 times smaller! That should significanlty decrease load times for those of you who care about my pictures! Unfortunately, I ran out of time this week to get the songs-by-name scripting tweaked, so It'll probably be next week before that happens.
Added the following songs: The Girl I left Behind Me (AKA Waxies Dargle), The Little Bag of Spuds, Marching the Soldier Along, The Muckin' O' Geordie's Byre, and Old Cape Breton March

Ok…It's Sunday, not Friday. It's been a busy week with my boy, so I didn't get any songs notated this week. However, I did do a fair amount of work making the "Songs By Type" screen more accessible, as there are now close to 200 songs in the database. Now you can filter that page by song type (Air, Strasthpey, etc) in one of two ways.
1:You can use the dropdown box on the screen to make your selection, and then click "Go!".
2: If you happen to be listing all of the songs, and decide you want to filter on the particular group you're in, you can click on the header for that group, and the page will self-filter.
If this sounds complicated, keep in mind that it's 3:40am Houston time, so I'm probably not at my best--Just go to the Songs By Type page, and you'll see what I mean. The page defaults to showing all the songs when you first go to it, but if we grow to too many, I'll probably have it default to a filtered list, so that the page doesn't take that long to load.

Next week: More songs (I promise!), and I'm going to do some similar filtering on the Songs by Name page, so that you can look up songs by first letter of the alphabet (making the list somewhat more manageable!).

Happy New Year!
I've got 5 new songs notated: The Helston Furry, I'll Go and Enlist for a Sailor, Kemp's Jig, Lads A' Bunchum, and Pigtown.
I've also made my first home-made whistle, out of copper no less! Check it out in the gallery!
We're close to our 200th song. Next week, I hope to have the lists broken down a little more, so that they're easier to navigate.
